ABA celebrated Diwali, the festival of lights, with a reception at Lancaster hotel with guest speaker HRH Prince Michael of Kent GCVO. Prince Michael acknowledged ABA’s trade promotion work over the 20 years and praised ABA’s support to charities. He also spoke of his own experience of the Indian sub-continent. Peter Bishop, LCCI’s deputy CEO, paid a tribute of Lord Noon of St John’s Wood, co-founder with SubhashThakrar of ABA.

Over 150 quests attended ABA networking reception at the Terrace Pavilion, House of Commons. SubhashThakrar, co-founder of ABA, and Rami Ranger, committee member of ABA, spoke about the contribution of Asian businesses to London’s economy, partly because of the entrepreneurial drive of Asians.

ABA celebrated its 20th anniversary with a high level reception at the SkyBar, Grange Hotel. Heathrow Airport sponsored this event with Baroness Verma and Lord Bilimoria as guest speakers. Vijay Goel,TheChairman highlighted ABA’s work and achievements over the past 20 years in terms of bringing diversity to the ABA committee, increasing membership and raising the profile of the group.

 

The ABA networking reception was held at Taj Hotels with guest speaker Ruby McGregor-Smith, Chief Executive, MITIE Group. Over 100 guests attended the event which provided a great opportunity for the members to hear Ruby McGregor-Smith’s motivation and approach to leadership and her future plans for the company.
