Tejas Thackeray is an Indian conservationist and wildlife researcher. An Indian Wildlife researcher and conservation Leader being passionate about wildlife photography. He works to discover new species and with his team has identified a new snake species in Maharashtra, lizards in Tamil Nadu and crabs in the Sahyadris. He discovered 5 new species of freshwater crabs.

- Discovered Ghatiana splendida (found near Chakul)
- Discovered Ghatiana atropurpurea (collected near Amboli)
