Richard Nilsson

Richard is a serial entrepreneur and expert in the Technology, (Digital) Media and Luxury & Lifestyle industries with over two decades of experience of which fifteen years based in Asia.

As an entrepreneur (mainly), intrapreneur and corporate business leader he has straddled responsibilities across; marketing, editorial/content production, sales/business development, management/leadership, strategies/innovation to launching several successful startups, to fundraising and M&A.

Richard is currently the founder and CEO of Rhino Ventures Asia. The company is a future-builder which ideates, invest, builds and runs technology ventures in areas that can tackle common problems through innovative technology solutions. Each venture will address a significant or several smaller problems in areas that can impact the livelihood of people, animals and planet. The innovation lab is in Danang, Vietnam, while the HQ and business office is in Singapore.

Rhino Ventures Asia’s first venture is MyPetGo, a health and location monitor for dogs and cats, coupled with decision intelligence (AI) that provides the user with next step data-driven recommendations to an ecosystem of locally curated service providers. Richard is both the CEO and MD of this venture.

Previously Richard co-founded, LifestyleAsia.com in 2006 to fill a void in the online luxury and lifestyle publishing industry/space across Asia.

Lifestyle Asia launched pre-Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, smartphones, tablet’s and sophisticated and user-friendly digital publishing, all things we use daily and take for granted a decade later.

After successfully launching the Hong Kong market the venture expanded to Singapore in 2008, Thailand in 2009, Malaysia in 2012, India in 2018 and France with the Paris edition in 2019.

Richard managed the sales of the company to German media & tech conglomerate Hubert Burda Media through their international arm, Burda International in Dec 2016.

Richard co-founded TradeIt, the first of its kind bilingual marketplace for the greater Canton region spanning across the pearl river delta area. The platform was the market leader in Hong Kong.
