Pavan Anand

An architect by qualification, Pavan Anand listened to his inner intuition and announced he would start designing jewels the day he graduated with his architecture degree! Dagmar jewelry launched in 2004, and up until 2008, a large part of his business occurred within the Indian subcontinent. After 2008, Pavan focused on entering different markets in the West. His flagship brand Dagmar now has representative offices in New York, Toronto, LA, Orlando, Vancouver, Jakarta, Caracas, Kuwait, Singapore as well as Casablanca. Since he diversified his international presence, his jewels have adorned the likes of Goldie Hawn, Nicole Kidman, Edward Norton and the Royal Family of Morocco. Pavan Anand has previously showcased with Bergdorf Goodman and collaborated with internationally acclaimed brands such as Versace and Nankai. He has also worked in collaboration with the grand-daughter of the Maharaja of Patiala, Bhupinder Singh, to create multiple jewellery capsule collections. Pavan’s love affair with gemstones might have started at the age of six – a passion that would eventually seed a career – but he earns the rightful title of an aesthete because of his zest for design in totality. It may have been destined that he would study architecture, design jewels, and then go back to his penchant for architecture! With an architectural degree (he did his BArch at Rachana Sansad, The Academy of Architecture, Mumbai) Anand sees form and structure very differently. He subscribes to Avante Garde forms of expression, taking inspiration from the art movement while designing both, spaces and spectacular jewellery. Pavan has always combined his passions for art and aesthetics to create experiences that exude affluence, and is now pioneering an architectural awakening in Alibaug with his recently completed luxury home, which is referred to as Glass House 91 and was popularly described as “a structure that rewrites the architectural narrative of Alibaug” in the media. The entire idea behind creating Glass House 91 was not just to create a lavish, ostentatious home, but to introduce the city to a new form of fashionable architectural design: creating a living space that features an honest juxtaposition of art, architecture and the Avant Garde, three of Anand’s strongest suits. This bespoke home is a spatial thought that disrupts the existing Balinese archetype that makes up the very fabric of the beach town, redefining the very notions of luxury. The bijoutiers’ work both in the jewels and the architecture space frequently finds its way to the covers and editorials of global press.
