These photos were taken on a series of trips from 2004 – 2007 in Kanha, India by Prof. Nishi Mukerji and Dr. CJ Meadows – business people, educators, conservationists, long-time friends, and avid wildlife photographers. We’ve focused on the images themselves and have named the animals for excited children who would like to learn more about our natural world. Years ago, my friends and I began coming to Kanha to see the world’s finest cat – the Royal Bengal Tiger. We discovered the beauty of the surrounding forest, animals, and people. We were so moved by the dangers to and interconnectivity among all three that we set up The Tiger Center to create ways to help them all. Indeed, any effort to save an endangered species without helping its environment will fail. Any effort organized to save species and environment without benefitting the local community — the ultimate police force — is doomed. That’s why our programs are designed to help all three — tigers, environment, and people. 100% of the proceeds from this book support the Tiger Center and its programs (tigercenter org), including a school, hospital, environmental education, and more.
